Exemplary Leader in Critical Care Medicine

Dr. Venkat Raman Kola is the Clinical Director of the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad — and the Founder Director of Sparsh Critical Care Team, one of India's largest and most respected critical care groups.

Over more than two decades of dedicated service, Dr. Kola has led critical care departments across Hyderabad's premier corporate hospitals — Yashoda, Care, Continental, and Apollo — building clinical teams, designing institutional protocols, and championing evidence-based intensive care in a region with one of the most complex patient demographics in South Asia.

His academic foundation is extraordinary: holding MD and DNB qualifications alongside the coveted IDCCM, FICCM, and the European Diploma in Intensive Care (EDIC) — complemented by Healthcare Management education from the prestigious Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. This unique intersection of clinical mastery and management acumen informs his approach to leading large, multidisciplinary ICU teams.

The ICU is where medicine is most humbling — and most powerful. I have devoted my career to making that power more accessible, more evidence-based, and more compassionate, for both patients and the physicians who serve them.
